BISSAP

INGREDIENTS FOR 4 PEOPLE
- 1/4 cups (50 g) dried
- Bissap (hibiscus)
- flowers
- 2/3 cup (150 g) sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 vanilla bean
- 1 bunch mint
PREPARATION
Bring 4 cups (1 liter) water to a boil. Add the bissap flowers, sugar, and cinnamon stick. Split the vanilla bean in half lengthways and scrape the seeds into the pot. Add the empty vanilla bean and cook for 15 minutes. Turn off the heat and add the mint. Cover and leave to infuse for 10 minutes. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve and pour the infusion into a jug. Keep the bissap in the fridge for a week. Serve chilled.
BISSAPOLITAIN

INGREDIENTS FOR 4 PEOPLE
- Ice cubes
- 3 1/2 fl oz (100 ml) bissap (see top)
- 5½ fl oz (160 ml)
- standard Russian vodka
- 1 1/4 fl oz (40 ml) lime juice
- Lime slices, to serve
- 5½ fl oz (160 ml) Grand Marnier®
PREPARATION
In a shaker filled with ice cubes, vigorously shake all the ingredients together. Pour into a cocktail glass, garnish with a slice of lime, and enjoy (in moderation!).
